Descriptions for April 2026 School Holiday Workshops

* A Slice of Possum Magic [4 to 7 years]
Step into the magical, mischief-filled world of Hush and Grandma Poss as we set off on a crafty adventure across Australia! Travel from the bush to the beach on an imaginative journey inspired by the much-loved Australian classic “Possum Magic” by Mem Fox. Along the way, we will learn a few cheeky magic tricks, whip up some “magic” Aussie treats, and discover the delicious foods that helped Hush become visible again.

Antarctica: Ink & Illustration [10 to 15 years]
The natural landscape of Antarctica and it’s inhabitants will be our subjects in this art workshop. Explore ink techniques including sprays, pens and brushes. Draw and paint animals and birds, and capture the changing moods of the sea and sky.

Art Foundations: Charcoal Portraits [9 to 13 years]
Charcoal is an expressive and easy to use (if a little messy) drawing material that is perfect for portraits. This is a technique workshop where you’ll be guided through the process of drawing, shading and blending with charcoal to make realistic portraits. Draw eyes, noses, mouths and hair and complete a portrait for display.

Art of the Fire Horse [6 to 12 years]
Step into the world of the Chinese zodiac as we explore the energy of the Fire Horse in this art workshop. Discover how colour, movement and design can express strength, passion and independence. Using rich reds, glowing flame tones and touches of gold, create your own striking Fire Horse artwork. This workshop is inspired by the rich cultural history of the Chinese zodiac, and we approach it with respect, creativity and curiosity.

Battle Maps: River Crossing [9 to 14 years]
Have you ever wanted to build your own battlefield from scratch? In this workshop, you won’t just play the game, you’ll design it. Create a detailed tabletop terrain base complete with a strategic river and a custom bridge that could decide the outcome of the battle. Learn how layout, distance, and positioning change the way a game unfolds, then put your map to the test. Strategy, creativity, and hands-on building, this is next-level tabletop gaming.

Design & Draw: K-Pop Fashions [6 to 12 years]
In this fun illustration workshop we will step into the world of K-Pop stage fashion. From cool jackets and funky sneakers to glittery accessories and bold patterns, we will dream up stage-ready looks fit for a superstar. Learn how to draw fashion figures, add fun details and use bright colours to make our designs pop.

Drawn to Racing: F1 Art [10 to 15 years]
In this dynamic drawing workshop students will explore sleek lines, bold shapes and powerful form that make Formula 1 cars iconic. We’ll break down car structures into simple, drawable shapes while learning about proportion, foreshortening, perspective and motion blur techniques . Learn how to capture shine, reflections and angles along the way.

Escape Quest: Code of the Ancient Temple [8 to 12 years]
The stone doors have sealed shut… and the countdown has begun. Deep inside an ancient temple filled with forgotten secrets, only one path leads to freedom. You and your team of explorers must decode mysterious symbols, solve cryptic riddles, unlock hidden chambers, and uncover the temple’s lost code before time runs out. Every clue connects. Every puzzle matters. Sharp thinking, teamwork, and a keen eye for detail will be the key to escaping. Can you break the ancient cipher and claim victory, or will the temple guard its secrets forever? Adventure, mystery, and mind-bending challenges await.

Grand Designs Minecraft [6 to 12 years]
Every grand endeavour begins by placing a block. In this crafty off-line workshop for the designers, builders, and minecrafters amongst us, we will lay out our grand plan and raise a roof fit for a villager. Architecture, modelling, and scale combine as we create the grandest minecraft-inspired designs we can imagine!

Home Tweet Home [4 to 7 years]
The birds in the city are without a place to call home. We'll come to their rescue. Find out about the birds that live in the city and how they like to live. Paint your very own birdhouse canvas artwork and make a water station to take home for your backyard birds.

Lego Craft World Building [6 to 12 years]
If you like to build your own adventure, brick by brick, then this workshop is for you! Our large collection of Lego will be at your disposal as you create a world of your own pleasing. Buildings, farms, animals, tools, mobs, portals, mine-shafts, dungeons, or maybe even another dimension. The choice is yours, so grab your pickaxe; it's time to create!

Marbles in Motion: Chain Reactions [5 to 10 years]
Inspired by the big ideas of Isaac Newton, we’ll explore pushes, pulls, ramps, levers, forces, and energy, without it feeling like a science lesson at all. We’ll turn simple materials into epic chain reactions that twist, tumble, tip, and CLACK their way across the room! Design, build, test, and improve your own marble-powered contraptions to see just how far one little roll can go. The only limit will be the number of awesome reactions we can squeeze into 90 minutes!

Math Magic: Tricks & Puzzles [8 to 12 years]
Discover the captivating side of maths as we unveil the secrets behind mind-boggling math tricks and explore the fun in numbers. From perplexing puzzles to astonishing number games, this workshop will make math come alive in the most enchanting ways.

Moonlight Wolves [8 to 14 years]
Answer the call. This art based workshop features wolves in the wild. Learn how to capture the character of your wolf, it's eyes and fur, exploring realistic and cartoon style, step by step. Build your drawing skills by understanding the wolf’s anatomy and expression. Create 2 finished artworks using acrylic paints and graphite.

Outback Engineer [4 to 7 years]
The Aussie outback is one of the toughest landscapes in all the world. Roads and bridges, bores and mines, the Engineers have made it all work in the harshest conditions. How do you beat the searing heat? What do you do if it rains? and Is there time for fun? We'll answer these questions and more as we learn what it takes to be an Outback Engineer.

Paint the World Pink [4 to 7 years]
Fairy floss, watermelon, raspberry, wild rose, fuchsia, sunrise or Barbie pink. So many pinks to fill the world!. Join in the fun and make artworks in 2D and 3D with all shades of this beautiful colour. Mix, squish, drip, dribble or brush. Pink rules the world!

Pup Power: Dogs to the Rescue [4 to 7 years]
Not all heroes wear capes, some have paws! Join us for a tail-wagging adventure as we discover the amazing jobs that working dogs do to help people every day. From firefighting and search-and-rescue to police pups and guide dogs, we’ll explore how these clever canines use their skills to save the day. Design a rescue plane for your own rescue dog to zoom into action! Get ready to think, build, and problem-solve just like a real working pup in this fun and interactive workshop.

Reach for the Stars [4 to 7 years]
Get ready for an out-of-this-world adventure as we zoom into space together! Have you ever wondered what it’s like to float like an astronaut or live on a rocket? In this action-packed workshop, junior space explorers will play astronaut training games, discover how we eat, sleep, and move in space, and explore the wonders of the galaxy. Perfect for big dreamers with curious minds, this space mission guarantees fun, laughter, and a safe landing in time for dinner!

Sea Science [5 to 10 years]
Adventure awaits as we dive into an ocean of discovery! Young explorers will set sail on a hands-on adventure across the seven seas, uncovering amazing ocean secrets along the way. Why do some things float while others sink? How do sea creatures survive in salty water? Through fun experiments and simple engineering challenges, we’ll splash into the science of the sea.

Sunset Skies: Golden Serengeti [6 to 12 years]
The amazing colours of the Serengeti skies are a wonderful inspiration in this workshop for kids who love to paint. Mixing your own colours is challenging and fun. Golds, reds, oranges, pinks and purples. Use acrylic paints and mediums for texture. Drawing with paint pens will add detail as you complete your own canvas.

The Artist's Garden [5 to 10 years]
A drawing and painting workshop full of inspiration from the artist's garden. Look at artworks by Vincent Van Gough and Claude Monet. Learn about hatching and stippling and render a detailed drawing with pencil and markers. Make a beautiful painting of the artist's garden to take home.

The Fastest Car in Bricktown [5 to 10 years]
Start your engines - it’s race day in Brick Town! In this Lego workshop we will design, build and test our very own racing cars to see whose creation is the fastest of them all. We will look at racetrack design and explore what makes cars go faster. Get ready to build, race, redesign and race again, because in Brick Town, the fastest car takes the chequered flag!

Treasure Hunters [5 to 10 years]
Grab your explorer hat and get ready for a globe-trotting treasure quest like no other! We’ll journey from the mysterious pyramids, to the dusty trails of the Wild West, and dive beneath the ocean waves in search of legendary loot. Along the way, we’ll crack codes, solve clues, and uncover amazing “artifacts” from each destination. Every explorer will also design and build a treasure box to keep the discoveries safe.

Warrior Cats Marker Art [6 to 12 years]
Calling fans of the Warrior Cats series of books. You’ll have your favourites. The clans are strong. These animals are fun to draw. Step by step. Try lots of ideas and techniques with markers and paint pens as you add colour. We’ll draw and paint a graphic novel style artwork for display.
